
-Tim Swafford, owner, has decades of home remodeling experience and is widely recognized with a number of designations and certifications. Tim is a certified Aging-In-Place Specialist (CAPS) and has completed training in the specialized procedures necessary for an ADA (Americans With Disabilities Act) compliant home. Tim is also a Certified Graduate Builder (CGB), Certified Graduate Remodeler (CGR) and Certified Green Professional (CGP). Tim's professionalism has propelled him to national recognition in his field. Recently, he has been honored by the National Association of Home Builders by being appointed to the National Board of Directors for the NAHB Green Remodeling Committee located in Washington, DC.
-Caroline Decosimo, owner, studied at the University of Georgia Business School in Public Relations before raising her two children. Over the past few years, she has recognized the need for an aging-in-place remodeling business in the Chattanooga area. With a passion for helping those with accessibility needs, she joined the team at Independent Living as Owner and Director of Marketing.
-Jennifer Richards is co-owner and office manager of Independent Living of Tennessee. She has been working for the company since its inception in 2007. Jennifer previously worked in the financial and brokerage industry for four years before becoming co-owner of Independent Living of TN. Jennifer has earned the designation as a CAPS professional.
-Tommy Swafford is Tim Swafford's son and has been around his father's business all his life. Tommy completed the NAHB required courses to receive his CGP and CAPS designations in 2008. Since, recieving his CAPS certification, he is now a project manager as well. His understanding of the construction and remodeling process makes him an integral part of the Independent Living team.
-Dave Penney came to work for Tim Swafford at Swafford Construction in August of 2000. Dave received his CGP accreditation in 2008. Dave now serves as a Independent Living of TN project manager, and has also received his CAPS designation. Dave's comprehension of the building process and capability as a manager make him an invaluable team member of Independent Living.
